We advise applying early as places are limited and there is a lot of competition for accommodation and course places.
Once accepted on the programme, students confirm their place by selecting and securing their accomodation followed by their courses.
While accommodation choice is final, students can revise their course selection, subject to availability, until Thursday 5 June 2025, 5pm UK time.

The Pembroke Cambridge Summer Programme offers students the unique opportunity to enjoy outstanding small-group teaching in a beautiful and inspiring academic setting.
On the programme we combine the intimacy of College life and small class sizes with the excitement of studying abroad for six weeks with up to 250 students from all around the world.
What’s more, if a student is planning research or graduate studies, the Independent Supervision Research Project is a wonderful option to work one-to-one with an expert in the field.
Academic content is at the core of our offering, but there’s much more to this experience and we do all we can to help students make the most of their time in our beautiful city and the UK.
We relaunched the previously-named Pembroke-King’s Programme as the Pembroke Cambridge Summer Programme in 2022 and thanks to our new Mill Lane Development we are now in the position to host the entire programme in-house at Pembroke College.
Our programme is renowned for its rigorous and intellectually challenging courses and at the centre of our ethos is small-group teaching.
To achieve the interactive educational culture we believe is so important on the programme, we cap each lecture group at thirty students and each seminar group at fifteen.
In brief, the Pembroke Cambridge Summer Programme is a six-week programme that runs in July and August and we welcome around 250 students from institutions all over the world to study and enjoy an authentic Cambridge College experience with us. Students take three courses, or two courses and an Independent Supervision Research Project, over the six weeks, as well as take part in a social programme including Formal Halls, Plenary Lectures and various social activities organised by our team of Cambridge undergraduate Programme Assistants.

It is our pleasure to provide you with information about the univie: winter school for Cultural Historical Studies 2025 of the Sommerhochschule of the University of Vienna.
The topic of the winter school is “The Discovery of Modernity – Vienna Around 1900”. The univie: winter school takes place in Vienna, where traces of the outstanding culture of the late 19th and the beginning of the 20th century are still visible.
The two-week program combines first class academic courses with an extensive social and cultural program. Vienna’s rich cultural heritage, especially the museums, will lead to a thorough understanding of the input of the fin-de-siècle on the modernization of Europe.
This unique program consists of high-level lectures in the morning and guided excursions in the city of Vienna as well as visits to various museums in the afternoon. Outside the framework of classes, Vienna offers plenty of opportunities to explore additional cultural and historical sights.
The academic course environment encourages intercultural and social exchange and favors mutual understanding within the international student population. Participants thus broaden their horizons, meet colleagues from different fields of study, make friends for life and build connections for their future professional careers.
Given the intercultural and interdisciplinary aspect of the program our course offerings are, without question, of interest for students from all fields of study, but certainly of special interest for students who study one of the following fields: History, Cultural Studies, Art, Design, Architecture, Literature, Psychology, and Political Science.
The univie: winter school 2025 will take place from January 31 – February 14, 2025.
Winter School fees will be announced shortly and include registration, tuition, and all planned excursions.
The application deadline for the winter school is November 30, 2024.

Scope
Achieving human well-being and eradicating poverty for all people on earth – while protecting our planet’s climate and biodiversity – will require transformative change. You can be a part of this change. But to help transform the world, we first need to understand the complex global challenges we face and our role in these. Join us at the 2025 International Winter School on Sustainable Development to deepen your understanding of these issues – through creative, interactive, and participatory learning.
Current global sustainability challenges are increasingly complex. Really understanding what’s at stake requires knowledge on systemic interactions and on competing claims by different actors. Science, thus, has a major role to play in informing negotiations and solutions to guide the societal transformations needed to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The purpose of this Winter School is to empower participants to act in the face of these challenges. In this nine-day online course, experienced sustainability researchers will highlight the most important development issues in their respective fields. These presentations will alternate with study time where participants can deepen their knowledge individually or in groups. Moreover, participants will form interdisciplinary teams in which they will co-design solutions to concrete sustainability challenges.
Structure of the Winter School
The course involves the following main elements:
● Preparatory reading/activities prior to the course
● Interactive thematic sessions with presentations by distinguished experts
● Student projects in intercultural and interdisciplinary teams
● Interactive Slack workspace and peer-to-peer exchange and learning
● Presentation and discussion of student projects
● Reflection on learnings for your bachelor/master studies

The summer schools are intensive, weeklong programs that are the perfect way to build upon your knowledge on relevant topics in your field, meet and create new connections with peers and experts from across the globe and share your ideas and research.
Given that many of the summer schools are interdisciplinary, participants can gain new insight on the topics that are of interest to them from various disciplinary perspectives. During the summer school programme, you will follow lectures taught by leading experts in the field but depending on the summer school, may also take part in workshops, group work and sometimes work on assignments, projects or work on solutions to real-life challenges. As the summer schools are research-driven, you often have the opportunity to share their research and get feedback on it. There are also many fun social activities and networking opportunities to take part in including a city tour or scavenger hunt, welcoming drinks as well as school-specific activities such as excursions, events and dinners. What a great way to spend a week of your summer!
